The Museum of Everything at Selfridges

on 14/9/11

The Museum of Everything, Britain's most talked about temporary/contemporary art project, takes over Selfridges this autumn. From 2nd September to 25th October 2011, The Museum of Everything will occupy all the Orchard and Oxford Street windows and fill the Ultralounge – Selfridges’ permanent exhibition space – with over 200 never- before-seen artworks.

As part of Exhibition #4, The Museum of Everything has invited celebrated design team Clements Ribeiro to create an exclusive autumn-winter capsule collection, inspired by the designers’ favourite artists and artworks from the Exhibition #4. The result is PROJECT 6, a collection showcasing the signature Clements Ribeiro style, featuring simple shapes and exuberant colours, luxe fabrics and bold prints inspired by the artists from the show and - importantly - bringing their work to an entirely new audience.

PROJECT 6 will be sold within the Concept Store, the dedicated hub for new shopping concepts in Selfridges, temporarily renamed The Shop of Everything. It will sell dozens of bespoke products and collectables featuring prints and designs from the works staged in the main exhibition in the Ultralounge.

Exhibition #4 is The Museum of Everything’s most radical show yet. Playful, personal, colourful and complex, this major survey of studios for self-taught artists with developmental and other disabilities is the first of its kind in Britain. It reveals an astonishing visual language which speaks for those who often cannot and asks the audience to consider why these artists remain invisible - not only to museums and galleries, but to society as a whole.

The event opened on September 2nd and will run until October 25th 2011 open all day, every day Mon to Sat - 10am to 8pm Sunday - 11am to 6pm at Selfridges, 400 Oxford Street, London W1A 1AB.
